About Bio Hazard Auto Clavable Bag
Biohazard autoclavable bags are heat-resistant plastic bags, typically red or yellow, usedto contain and sterilize infectious waste before final disposal. They are a critical safety tool in laboratories, hospitals, and other facilities that handle biological hazards.
How to use biohazard autoclavable bags
Step 1: Collect waste
- Segregate waste:Place only non-sharp, biohazardous materials in the bag. These include contaminated labware (e.g., petri dishes, culture plates), gloves, pipettes, and solid items saturated with blood or infectious agents.
- Use secondary containment:Place the autoclavable bag inside a sturdy, autoclavable pan or tub. This prevents potential spills and leaks during transport and inside the autoclave.
- Fill correctly:Do not fill the bag more than two-thirds full. This ensures there is adequate room for steam to circulate and sterilize the contents.
